Why a REM Facility & Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) System?

REM projects are created to achieve the highest level of diversion from landfill and compost possible and reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions to the greatest extent possible while producing clean Renewable Energy with the remainder of residual materials.

The primary focus and core values are "MINIMIZATION OF WASTE", "LOW VISUAL IMPACT" and "PROXIMITY PRINCIPLE".

MINIMIZATION OF WASTE

To reduce the waste arising to the smallest amount possible through strategic management and processes that completely separate waste to maximize recovery of materials suitable for reuse and recycling and to further reduce the residual materials through the Advanced Conversion Technology to produce clean Renewable Energy.

The processes reduce waste by 98% or more and have zero waste water discharge and all solid discharge is clean inert (non toxic) materials suitable for reuse in secondary markets and processes.

LOW VISUAL IMPACT

The ENTECH-REM facilities are only 13 meters high and blend well inside a normal industrial park area. There are no high stacks necessary for dispersion due to the "ultra-low" emissions from the processes. The exhaust stacks are usually only 3-5 meters above the building.

Proximity Principle

REM believes that the most economically and environmentally sustainable solutions are achieved when the waste can be disposed of and processed when the facilities are placed closer to where the majority of the waste is produced. This methodology reduces transportation costs, fuel consumption and the carbon footprint associated with current collection and disposal methods.
