Landfill Capacity Problem
Waste Management and Environmental "Need"
How can the Advanced Conversion Technology (ACT) Process solve the Landfill Capacity problem?
Diversion of Waste from Landfill:
- A Waste Facility processing 350,000 Tonnes per Year or 7,000,000 Tonnes over the 20 year capacity of the Landfill Site.
- The "ACT" Process will achieve a 98% Diversion/Reduction of waste from the landfill site with only 7,000 Tonnes per Year or 140,000 Tonnes over the 20 Years being sent to the Landfill Site as an Inert (non-toxic) Ash.
- Therefore - 6,860,000 Tonnes of Waste is being diverted from the Landfill Site.
- This Landfill Site with a 20 year capacity at the current use rates will now be able to accept waste for 1,000 years.
- For comparison purposes, extremely high temperature processes reduce waste by only 70% so the same Landfill Site will be at capacity in less than 70 years. 105,000 Tonnes of Waste per Year or 2,100,000 Tonnes over the 20 Years being sent to the Landfill Site as Toxic Waste.
